I was born in Turkmenistan in 1988.
During my studies at high school I was fascinated with not only social sciences, such as foreign languages, but also with fundamental sciences, such as mathematics, physics, which I succeeded in by winning several school and city Olympiads.
My high schools were so diverse in terms of nationalities and cultures, that I found it very exciting and interesting to explore them. People of different ethnicities have always surrounded me. I would even describe my family as multinational: my father is of Russian and Ukrainian descent, and my mother is Armenian. This factor has influenced many aspects of my life, including the choice of International Relations as my career path.
Since early childhood I have been participating in musical festivals in Turkmenistan. I graduated from Choreography School with honors at the age of 12. After finishing High School in Turkmenistan, I was selected to study at Educational Centre "Tsaritsino" No.548 in Moscow. It was a program specially designed for the ex-USSR countries by the Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov.
Moving to the UK and settling there was a huge challenge for me. I have always liked exploring the world, new cultures, interacting with people with diverse backgrounds, experiencing different lifestyles. In this era of globalization there is a great opportunity to broaden your mind in various fields and to extend the frontiers of knowledge. The issues of global affairs within the international system have always attracted me. To me, one of the most magnetic features of International Relations is that my work will not only include analyzing the foreign policy, but also economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, and business of the foreign affairs.
While applying to UCL for earning a degree, I have taken into consideration its reputation, its academic achievements, dynamic and intellectually challenging atmosphere, that will all eventually lead to achieving my goals.
I believe that I will be able to have a say on behalf of the Armenian community in today's International World of Politics. I am happy to admit our Armenian community is very united in spite of the fact that we are all scattered around the globe. We always try to give a hand when somebody is in need. This is the main feature characterizing Armenians.
