I am Nare Vardanyan. I was born in Yerevan in 1991. I went to school at the age of five and thenceforth started studying foreign languages. I am currently twenty years old, being fluent in Russian, English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. I have also studied Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew.

In 2006 I entered Yerevan State University, Department of International Relations and earned Bachelor’s degree with honors in 2010. I give a great importance to social and civic activities, hence since 2007 I have been involved in Armenian UN Association’s youth mission, and in 2009 I participated in the first Global Model UN conference at UN headquarters in Geneva. After being back to Armenia, I started to head Armenian UN Association’s Youth Division.

I do like public speaking. In 2008 I was the national winner of English Speaking Union’s Public Speaking Competition and took part in the international competition in London. My speech was titled “The Little Soldier of Trust”: it unveiled the hardship people face in regions where trust is shattered and peace is unsteady. In that way I tried to voice the experience of my own nation.

In 2010 I did an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA, Consular Department and Department of International Organizations. In February 2011 I took part in a competition for entering MFA’s Diplomatic School, and was among the 28 from more than 200 people to be chosen.

However, I started to realize that, to accomplish my career goals and stick to my vision, I need to get an MA at UCL. I was offered an unconditional place at the School for Slavonic and East European Studies, Politics, Security and Integration programme. I love being a difference and I believe in my cause.
