Yeghishe Kirakosyan holds Bachelor’s Degree in Jurisprudence (2002) and Master’s Degree in Jurisprudence (2004) from Yerevan State University and Master of Laws in International Legal Studies from Georgetown University Law Center (2010, with Distinction).

In 2006 Yeghishe defended successfully Ph.D. dissertation obtaining Doctorate degree in International Law (topic: Custom in Contemporary International law).

Currently Yeghishe works at the Government of the Republic of Armenia, in the capacity of an assistant to the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Armenia. He teaches at the Department of European and International Law at the Yerevan State University.

During his student years Yeghishe had been actively participating in numerous scientific conferences and moot court competitions (Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition).

Yeghishe has published over ten articles both in national and in international periodical publications. In 2009 he published his first monograph: Custom in Contemporary International Law (in Russian). Yeghishe is a member of Armenian Association of International Law, American Association of International Law, Russian Association of International Law and American Association of International Law.

Research interests are: public international law, use of force, international criminal law, unilateral secession, international human rights, international humanitarian law, use of force in international law, treaty law, international commercial arbitration, international investment law, dispute resolution etc.

Taron Simonyan holds Bachelor’s Degree in Jurisprudence (2007, with honor), Master’s degree in Jurisprudence (2009) from Yerevan State University. In 2009 Taron successfully completed Tavitian Scholarship Program in International Law and Legal Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (United States). And is currently pursuing his Ph.D. with the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Yerevan State University.

During his student years Taron has participated in numerous professional and scientific activities. Currently Taron conducts research in synergetic methodology for the inquiry of statehood and legal order in conditions of contemporary international legal order and accelerating social changes.

Research interests are; interdisciplinary approach to the contemporary problems of statehood and jurisprudence, interrelationship of international and national legal systems, dynamical changes in Armenian statehood, dynamics of international law.

Ruben Melikian holds Bachelor’s Degree in Jurisprudence (2001), Master’s Degree in Jurisprudence (2003), Ph.D. (Appellation in the criminal procedure of Armenia, 2006) from Yerevan State University. In December 2008 Ruben successfully completed Tavitian Fuondation certificate program at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University.

Since 2003 Ruben is an associate professor at Yerevan State University, Chair of criminal procedure and criminalistics. He is also adviser of the President of the Cassation Court of the Republic of Armenia since 2009.

In 2007 Ruben Melikian published his monograph – "Appellate Review in the Armenian Criminal Procedure". Ruben Melikian is co-author for number of scientific-educational and scientific-practical publications. He has published over 20 scientific papers and articles relating to various aspects of his academic research areas.

Research areas include: criminal procedure, problems of organization and functioning of the judiciary, European Court of Human Rights’ case-law, legal techniques, comparative jurisprudence, etc.

Aram Orbelyan graduated from Department of International Law of Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation (MGIMO) in 2005 (with Honor). In 2008 Aram obtained his Ph.D. degree at the same university (topic: Use of armed force in modern international relations).

Since 2009 Aram works at a local Law Firm (Concern-Dialog CJSC) in the capacity of an equity partner, deputy-director, senior lawyer and lecturing at Russian-Armenian Slavonic University (chair of International and European law). Aram is a Member to Russian International Law Association, to Chamber of Advocates of Armenia, to Armenian Association of International Law, MGIMO Alumni Organization.

Aram’s research interests include general topics of International law, use of force, security and international law, self-determination. Besides international law, A.Orbelyan is also interested in comparative administrative law, dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution (both under international and domestic jurisdictions).

Vladimir Vardanyan holds Bachelor`s degree in Jurisprudence (2000, with Honor) from Yerevan State University. In 2005 Vladimir Vardanyan defended successfully Ph.D. dissertation obtaining Doctorate degree in International Law From Yerevan State University (topic; Basis of State Responsibility for Genocide).

Since 2006 Vladimir Vardanyan is the Head of International Treaties Department of the Legal Advisory Service of the Staff of the RA Constitutional Court. He is also a lecturer at the Yerevan State University and the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University. Vladimir Vardanyan is author of more than 20 scientific papers dedicated to several aspects of International and Constitutional Law.

His area of work and writing is on International Legal Aspects of the Crime of Genocide, State Responsibility, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, Law of Treaties and International Human Rights Law

Levon Gevorgyan holds Bachelor`s degree in Jurisprudence (2006) and Master`s degree in Jurisprudence (2008) from Yerevan State University, an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from American University, Washington College of Law (United States) and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree with the Chair of European and International Law at Yerevan State University. Contemporary issues of the international legal regulation of territorial disputes.

From 2008 September to 2010 October Levon Gevorgyan worked at the Department of Relations with the European Court of Human Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Since October 2010 Levon Gevorgyan works at "Harutyunan and Partners" Law Firm as associate. Levon Gevorgyan interned with Public International Law and Policy Group (a US non-profit organization which operates as a global pro bono law firm), as well as with the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations, Codification Division.

Levon`s research interests are; territorial disputes, self-determination, human rights, international criminal law and state responsibility. He has been concentrating his research on the topics of "remedial secession", "post-colonial self-determination and uti possidetis", "prevention of mass atrocities" etc.

Suren Sargsyan holds Bachelor`s degree in Jurisprudence from Yerevan State University (2003), LL.M. degree from American University of Armenia (2007), and another LL.M. degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, majoring in international law and international relations.

Suren Sargsyan has an extensive work experience in a number of governmental as well as non-governmental organizations, including Bar Association of Armenia and Ministry of Finance and Economy of Armenia. Currently Suren works as a chief expert at the Department of Legal Affairs, Office of the President of Armenia.

Suren’s research interests are use of force, dispute resolution, self-determination, peacekeeping and dispute resolution. Suren has conducted research in international relations and diplomacy.

Sarah Shirazyan holds LLB (2004) and MA (2006) from Yerevan State University, Law School and Intercollegiate LL.M. Degree from University of London (UCL and SOAS colleges). In 2008 June -December Sarah did advanced Postgraduate Training Certificate Program in International Affairs and Legal Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Currently Sarah is a Ph.D. candidate at the Yerevan State University.

Sarah is an Open Society Institute researcher and lecturer at the International and European Law Chair (full master Courses on International Systems of Human Rights Protection and Public International Law). Sarah has been advising and working for leading Human Rights and USAID funded organizations; American Bar Association Rule of Law Imitative, OSCE ODIHR Election Observation Missions to Armenia, Politico-Military Project of the OSCE, Counterpart International Armenia etc. Currently, she is managing ABA Criminal Law Reform Project for Armenia .

Sarah’s research interest is Public International Law, with particular emphasis on international criminal law, International trade and environment, as well as issues dealing with law and policy of international courts and tribunals.

Armenuhi Gargaloyan holds LLB in Jurisprudence (2006 with honor) and MA in Jurisprudence (2008) from Yerevan State University. In june 2010 Armenuhi completed advanced training program in “International relations and Foreign policy” at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, United States. And currently she is pursuing her Ph.D. at the Yerevan State University, Department of European and International Law.

Armenuhi has been working for international organizations, mainly UNHCR office in Armenia, American Bar Association.

During student years Amenuhi has participated in a number of courses and competitions covering the field of public international law and EU Law. In 2008 and 2009 she participated in international rounds of Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition in Washington D.C. (United States of America). In 2010 served as judge at the international rounds of the same competition in Washington DC.

Armenuhi’s research interests among others include: international treaty law, International criminal law, international human rights and responsibility of states and international organizations, use of force.

Haik Kupeliants holds Bachelor’s Degree in Law from French University of Armenia ("with Honor") and from Jean-Moulin Lyon III University ("Mention bien"). Currently Haik is enrolled in Master’s degree program in International Business law at the same universities (topic; Reflexions on the Autonomy of International Commercial Arbitration and Reforms in Armenia).

Haik started his professional career as an intern at a law firm in Marseille, France. Currently, he is employed at "Grigoryan & Partners" law firm. Haik is author of a number of published articles. He is a member of the Public Council of Armenia (Committee of State and Legal Issues) and Luys scholar.

Haik’s research interests include conflict of laws, international commercial arbitration, international investment arbitration, international public law and economic analysis of law.

Jemma Panoyan graduated with honor from the International Law Department of Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations (MGIMO). Currently she is in the second year of her Masters studies (International Private and Civil Law Department) at the named university and in the first year of Masters (French Business Law) at the High School of Economics in Moscow.

Jemma Panoyan has done her internship at: the Moscow Office of "White and Case" (2005) - the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia (2008) - the Moscow Delegation of the International Committee for the Red Cross (2009) - the Yerevan Brandy Company (2010). She has also participated in several International Law competitions and conferences (Ph.C. Jessup Competition, F. Martens Competitions and others).

Her main fields of interest are: International Humanitarian Law, International Criminal Law, International Organizations Responsibility and State Responsibility, International Environmental Law, International Protection of Cultural Property, International Private Law (Conflict of Laws).

Arevik Stepanyan holds Masters degree from the French University in Armenia. She has participated in the Advanced Postgraduate Training Certificate Program in International Affairs and Legal Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in 2007.

Arevik Stepanyan is a leading specialist at the Department of Relations with the European Court of Human Rights at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. She represents the Armenian Government interests before the European Court of Human Rights. Apart from this, she teaches the courses "Common Law" and "Business Common Law" in the French University in Armenia. Her research is focused on international human rights’ law, international business law and common law. She speaks Armenian, Russian, English, French, limited German and Spanish.

Siranoush Sahakyan has graduated from Yerevan State University where she has obtained her bachelors and masters degrees with honor. She holds an L.LM diploma in International Human Rights Law from University of Essex (UK). Mrs Sahakyan is delivering courses on European Judicial Protection of Human Rights and the Practice of ECtHR in Yerevan State University.

Mrs. Sahakyan has worked for a number of state bodies, international organizations, NGOs, law firms, think tanks, such as Department for Relations with the European Court of Human Rights, OSCE ODIHR, UN, "Sretenka-consul" Law firm, Civil Society Institute.

Currently, she heads "Protection of Rights without Borders" NGO. In September 2010, she has joined the team of "Legelata" law firm, where she leads the practice of the firm in the areas of human rights, international public law and administrative law. Mrs. Sahakyan has strong expertise and research interests in the areas of international human rights law, ECHR, public international law, administrative law and criminal justice. She is an author of more than ten scientific articles.
