I was born and raised in Yerevan. As a child I envisioned myself becoming a doctor one day like my parents, but when I turned 12 I was transferred from regular school to Physics-Math Special School after A. Shahinyan. This switch was life altering. It totally changed my interests and consequently my future took a different course.

During my studies at Physics-Math School, I got acquainted with numerous interesting and creative people and made many good friends. My teacher of Physics, Gagik Grigoryan, along with other teachers, helped me to understand and fall in love with Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics. They helped greatly to develop new interests and discover talents in me.

While studying at School, I participated in a number of Olympiads and competitions. It helped to boost my creativity and imagination, as well as obtain and better many important skills. I was a member of Physics, Astronomy and Math clubs, where my friends and I used to solve interesting problems and overall through discussions tried to understand the nature and rules of Physics.

In 2008 I graduated from Physics-Math School and was bestowed with Gold Medal for achieving the highest scores in all of the final exams. In the meantime, I had been dreaming about continuing my education at MIT, one of the top universities in the world. In 2010 my dream came true, as I got admitted to MIT to major in Physics and Mathematics.
