    I was born in 1993.

From my early years in education I have always craved for academic excellence. Hard work resulted in constant excellent performance at school No.122 after A. Block. In 2007, having participated in the competition for studying at the Regent’s School in Thailand, I was granted 50% scholarship and left for Thailand. However, as a result of persistence and hard work my scholarship was raised each year, resulting in 65 and 75 percents in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

During my education in Regent’s I have twice been rewarded with academic excellences in Economics and Mathematics, and due to my interest in both subjects, I am planning to undertake both of them in either UCL or U of T.

The reason for me to choose Economics as an IB higher level subject was the wish to develop powerful thinking and to sweep away any remains of bias in my mind. This wish turned into passion as I started to understand the significance of this study for the world as a whole. Living in a country with weak economy played and plays a decisive role in my choice to continue my higher education in the area of Economics and Mathematics in order to invest my knowledge and future experience in welfare development of my motherland.

Studying economics for almost one and a half years has helped me to develop abilities such as clear, concise writing, research skills, critical thinking and making quantitative analysis.

Moreover, to deepen my understanding in areas that strike me as most fascinating, I have taken both internship and educational programs at the leading telecom in Armenia Viva-Cell MTS, which is the subsidiary of internationally well known MTS Russian telecom. I was given an opportunity to develop and apply my skills in practice and to taste the real-life application of knowledge in the world by analyzing the market structure of Armenian Telecom industry, in terms of concentration ratios, profit margins, competition and the nature of the good. I have seen how firms in reality perform and what is meant to be a part of a serious team. All these skills and experiences deepened my passion towards the course I want to undertake in the university.

Similarly mathematics has been my subsequent passion from early years thanks to my grandfather, who is a university lecturer in the area of statistics and probability. He was the one who created curiosity in me to investigate the principles of real mathematics. This interest led me to become the 1st in school in HL mathematics, as well as the only one in entire school history to have challenged himself with further mathematics as a 7th subject. I have also been rewarded price for being the 1st in HL economics in year 12 and the year 11 prize for the hardest working student in the school in 2009. Mathematics, together with further mathematics will equip me with tools to gain understanding of how economies work and ease my path to practical experience in economics.

Along with academic achievements and real-life practice I have also been involved in extracurricular activities all my life. I have been training swimming for more than 7 years, which in turn resulted in high individual achievements. Along with swimming I used to be one of the key players in Regent’s senior football team and twice the champion in 3.5 km cross country running.
