I was born in 1989 in the city of Abovyan, RA. When I was 11 my family moved to Stepanakert, Artsakh.

As a high school student I had a keen interest in theatre/drama; I completed a two-year certificate program in acting at Artsakh State Dramatic Theatre. My interests also spanned around the English language, as a result of which I successfully took part in a number of English Language Olympiads.

Upon leaving high school I was accepted to Artsakh State University, Faculty of Foreign Languages.

During my studies I took part in the community life of Artsakh. I participated in the Youth Peace Camp 2010 in Germany initiated by the Council of Europe.

I graduated from Artsakh State University in 2010 and in the same year got accepted to Columbia University.
