The Luys Education Council has confirmed the list of top ten universities for the upcoming academic year 2017-2018, which is based on the annual Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (http://www.shanghairanking.com/ARWU2016.html) of the Center for World-Class Universities of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Please keep in mind that Luys does not have any control over the ranking process and that this list may vary considerably from year to year. If a scholar is already enrolled as a Luys Scholar at a university, Luys will continue to support him/her until the completion of the academic program despite the fact that the university may drop off the list in subsequent years.
Based on the previous year`s results, the Luys Education Council has proposed a new set of rules that are aimed at improving our operation to better serve the mission of the foundation. The new ruling requires that Luys grant no more than 10 new scholarships per year for each of the 10 universities. This approach has the advantage of ensuring a better distribution of Luys Scholars across the 10 universities while maintaining our high enrollment level. This would add 100 new Luys Scholars per year to the 100 who are currently continuing their studies.
