The Chevening & Luys Scholarships

A wonderful opportunity to promote excellence in education for Armenian scholars

Embarking on a productive collaboration to foster education for Armenian citizens
Luys Foundation, an educational portal for creating a dialogue between major players in the field of education in Armenia and worldwide, and the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO)-British Embassy Yerevan are committed to supporting Armenian youth in attaining an education from the world’s top universities and inspiring them to play a role in the development of their homeland. Continually seeking new avenues through which to create partnerships with centers of excellence worldwide, the Luys Foundation and FCO-British Embassy Yerevan are launching the Chevening & Luys Scholarships. The FCO-British Embassy Yerevan shares Luys’ vision in supporting the education of Armenia’s youth and ultimately assisting the development of all spheres of society. This important milestone will shape Armenia’s future leaders and drive Armenia’s knowledge economy.

Armenian citizens are invited to apply for the 2015-2016 academic year
The Chevening & Luys Scholarships will be available to citizens of the Republic of Armenia. Starting in August 2014, potential candidates interested in studying at the University of Oxford and Cambridge in the UK will be invited to apply to the Chevening Scholarships Programme. Following a confirmation of acceptance, the candidates will be eligible to apply to the Luys Foundation. The FCO-British Embassy Yerevan and the Luys Foundation will each contribute 50% toward the costs associated with the scholarship, which includes academic tuition, a monthly stipend, an allowances package, and round-trip airfare for scholarship recipients. Following the completion of their studies, award recipients will put their skills to use in Armenia, facilitating its development.
