I was born in Yerevan in 1987.
After finishing school in 2003 I entered Armenian State University of Economics, Faculty of Management, and successfully graduated from it in 2007.
I decided to apply for MSc in International Public Policy at UCL, after having searched a large number of opportunities. I believe this is exactly what I have been looking for in terms of my professional and personal needs, and I am very happy I have been admitted.
Since student years I have worked first for an EU programme, then for one of the world’s biggest public relations agencies, Action Global Communications, and now I work for one of the largest international charities in Armenia- Heifer International Armenia. The longer I work, the better I come to realize there are more opportunities around me, and to reach them I need more in terms of skills and knowledge.
I am the type of person who is permanently striving for professional and personal growth. For me there is always room for development and learning. I demand this from myself, and I appreciate this in others.
I see I could do well in the field of public policy and I love this area.
Armenia is in need of a strong public administration system. The public service system in the Government, where I envisage myself in the near future after I graduate, needs quality professionals to develop further capacities for reforms. People with fresh mind and vision are highly demanded to promote the young and growing democratic values in Armenia and contribute to the economic development and sustainability of the country. I believe I can contribute with my skills and efforts to the policy reform development and implementation in my country. The young and enthusiastic generation can do a lot to promote and advance our country. At the moment, however, I feel I need to obtain high quality education in the area I have chosen, acquire specific knowledge and skills that will help to foster my professional growth, as well as will bring me personal joy of merely learning more.
My family is also very supportive of me in my endeavors, and this gives additional incentives and stimulus to move ahead.
I am looking forward to completing my studies at UCL and proceeding to work in order to invest in making my country a wonderful place to live or visit.
Sincerely,
Emma Sargsyan
