I was born in Waterville, Maine, in 1983.

I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Brown University, where I was the Co-President of the Armenian Students' Association, a Division I college athlete and team captain, an elementary school classroom volunteer, and led several high school after-school programs.

Upon my graduation, I accepted an offer to teach English as a Second Language and coach soccer at a middle school in New York City. After I taught for several years, I then lived and worked in Yerevan through the Birthright Armenia and Armenian Volunteer Corps programs. Upon returning to New York City, I joined the Professional Development team at Teach For America, delivering and evaluating developmental opportunities to new NYC Department of Education/Teach For America teachers working in under-resourced schools. Most recently, I was an Advisor and Case Management Supervisor at the Harlem Children's Zone, supporting college students towards graduation through one-on-one advising and group programming.

As I advanced in my career, I realized that my professional goals in education lie at the college level; I am currently enrolled in the Harvard University Graduate School of Education's Higher Education program in order to develop the skills and experiences to pursue a career in higher education administration. I am particularly interested in international higher education (study abroad) or athletic administration.

I serve on the Executive Board with Birthright Armenia, and I enjoy playing soccer, traveling, and reading.
