I was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2002 I entered Yerevan State University (YSU), Department of Oriental Studies, Chair of Arabic Studies. During the 2005-2006 academic year, I went to study at Cairo University, Egypt, as an exchange student, where I tried to use academic environment and informal networks to boost my Arabic language skills and to get closer insight into Arab culture.
After getting my bachelor's degree from YSU I applied and was admitted to American University of Armenia (AUA), Department of Political Science and International Affairs. The two years of my graduate studies at AUA have been a fascinating experience of gaining knowledge, meeting wonderful people and advancing. During my studies at AUA I was the best student at the Department of Political Science, and had the honor to give the valedictorian speech at the graduation ceremony.
While at AUA, I was involved in development-oriented NGOs, such as the Counterpart International as an intern, and the Civilitas Foundation, where I had the opportunity to work on the Economic Facilitation Program.
In 2010 I got accepted to Master of Public Administration Degree Program at Columbia University. In the future I hope to contribute to the development of my country with my acquired skills and expertise.
I like hiking and camping, which are great relaxation methods after long hours of study or work. Once or twice in a month I escape from the city to go to the countryside with friends to enjoy the beauty of our nature.
The drive to serve the society has to be innate, and has to be nurtured throughout life and through the environment in which one lives.
