    I was born in Ahvaz/Iran and raised in Tehran. My father is an avid scholar of Armenian literature and has been a major influence for me and my siblings. Through our parents we have had many opportunities to expand our horizon to our rich culture, history and language that has been passed down to us by our forefathers. I learn to appreciate art and culture. I met my husband while I was studying in Yerevan's Komitas State Conservatory and moved to Toronto.

    Education Background:

    • 1983-84 Attended to Armenian “Koushesh” Kindergarten.
    • 1984-90 Attended to Armenian “Rostom” Elementary School.
    • 1990-93 Attended to Armenian “Rostom” Middle School.
    • 1993-97 Attended to “Zeynab” Sport and Physical Science School.
    • 1997-02 Studied German Translation at “Islamic Azad University of Tehran”.
    • 1993-05 Took private piano lessons with Professor Gagik Babaian and Tamara Dolidze in Tehran.
    • 2005-2008 Studied Piano at Yerevan’s Komitas State Conservatory.
    • 2009 Studied Academic English at the “University of Toronto”.
    • 2009-present Currently I am studying Music Education at the “University of Toronto’s Music Faculty”.

     

    Sport and Cultural Activities:

    During my stay in Iran, I was a track and field athlete and I have participated in many competitions and took different prizes and awards.

    I was a member of Ararat Armenian Cultural and Sport Organization’s back in Tehran and was an active member in cultural events.

    For several years, I was acting in theatre for “Shant and Shantik” groups, where I broaden my knowledge of drama and performance.

    I also took part in various classical music nights, recitals, memorials and festivals such as, Armenian Music Culture at Tehran’s Carpet Museum.

    For “Arpa” and “Tsitsernak” children’s choirs I contributed as a collaborative pianist, and additionally I took part as an accompanist and soloist for “Narek” music ensemble. From 2001-2003, I taught music to the children at Ararat summer camp.

    Currently I sing at the University of Toronto’s “Master Chorale” and “Women’s Chorus”.

    Interests:

    - Studying art history, psychology, and various fictional novels (in various languages).
    - Attending to contemporary art exhibitions and installations.
    - Expanding my knowledge of culinary art.
    - Expanding my knowledge of languages.
